LA participated in the ASA Pro-Am archery
tournament in Paris, TX, finishing 1st and
35th, respectively, out of a field of 109
shooters in their class.  Both are freshmen at
Northwestern State University.

BEN FAUCHEAUX of Natchitoches, LA won
the Nakatosh Bass Club's first tournament of
the year February 17, '07 on Cane River.  He
also had the biggest bass with this
outstanding 7.40 lb kicker.  Laissez le bon
temps rouler!

DENNIS WEAVER of Seguin, TX caught this
14.478 lb lunker in early March '07 on Choke
Canyon Reservoir using a
1/2 oz Cyclone
Thunder Rattle Jig.  The trophy was
donated to the Texas State Lunker Program.  
Her new home will be in the aquarium of
Cabela's in Buda, TX.
WAY TO GO, DENNIS!!!
MIKE ECHOLS of Shreveport killed this big
rattler near Minden.  He and friend Joey Hood
were placing stands and putting out corn when
he spotted the snake.  Joey had already
walked past it.  The snake was coiled and in
"ready-to-strike" mode when Echols broke its
neck with a stick.
The NSU COLLEGIATE BASS FISHING TEAM
swept the top 3 positions in the 2007 NCAA
tournament held on Red River.  Keep an eye
on these guys, who are currently ranked
number 5 nationwide!!!

green trout on Lake Fork in May 2007.  
He was carolina-rigging a
V&M Pork Shad
in Mardi Gras color.  This just goes to
show that anybody can catch 'em when
they have the right tackle.  Besides, even
a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while!

JACOB COSENZA, age 5 of Marthaville, LA
holds up a nice trophy bass! He caught the
lunker in the Spring of '07 on a Watermelon
Red Stanley Ribbit frog.

ANDY COSENZA and TY COBBS caught this 5-fish limit in the 1st Annual Anacoco Lions Club Open Team Tournament held on
Toledo Bend on March 10, 2007.  The limit weighed 20.71 lbs with a 7.31 lb kicker fish.  The catch was good enough for 3rd place
overall and 2nd place Big Bass.

KYLE DICK of Martin, Louisiana took this awesome 8-pointer opening
weekend of rifle season.  This was his second buck so far this year, having
also taken a spike the same weekend.  What a way to start the season!
ROBERT HESTER took this Illinois 8-pt November 10, 2007 while hunting
over Code Blue.  He witnessed two bucks fighting on the same trip and
narrowly missed a trophy 12-pt when it ducked his arrow.  The deer in this
picture had a broken tine as a result of fighting as well.  Good job, Rob!!
RAY "CRACKSHOT" MATHEWES of
Simsboro, LA called in and smoked this big
gobbler in Lincoln Parish.  The tom sported a
10 1/2" beard and 7/8" spurs and weighed 17
pounds...but which one is the turkey?

DJ COKER, age 9 of Natchitoches, LA shows
off some of his bass fishing prowess.  DJ is the
local Bassmaster Casting Kids Champion, and
will participate in the national competition in
2007.  He aspires to be a professional angler.

Nebraska.  The two were joined by three other Louisiana natives looking to
get a jump on the whitetail archery season!  While the trip yielded plenty of
meat and a good time was had by all, the entourage returned to the Bayou
State antlerless.  Don't worry, fellas.  We'll get those big bucks next time!

CONNER HENDERSON, age 8 of Petal,
Mississippi took this awesome 8-point, his first
buck, while hunting with his dad, Dan.  
According to Dan, he was shaking more than
Conner!  Looking at that rack, we can see why.
